As you might already be aware, today is International Women’s Day! It’s a day that celebrates the momentous achievements that women have made throughout history to achieve gender equality. On this day, we have the pleasure to announce that we have partnered with an organisation that dedicated to helping young women find a foothold in the music scene. We give you: Ladies of Rage.
In case you didn’t know, Ladies of Rage is an online platform. Their aim is to help and support women working in the music industry in genres where women have historically been underrepresented. This includes genres such as hip hop, grime and drum’n’bass. Whether you’ve worked in music for 20 years or are just stepping out, all women are welcome to join them.
On the last Friday of Every month, Ladies of Rage stage jam sessions with an open mic and decks for cyphers and performances in a local recording studio. They do this to allow women from all over the Welsh capital the chance to perform their music locally. They also host daytime sessions where mothers can bring their children along too!
At this year’s awards ceremony, local DJs involved with Ladies of Rage will be performing in The Waiting Room from 8pm. The confirmed lineup can be viewed below!
